Purpose of a Community Development Corporation (CDC)
Purpose: A community-based organization which aggregates resources, ideas, and engages individuals, organizations with the shared goal of improving the future of a community to the benefit of the individuals who live there
Community Advocate: To provide an important bridge for connecting residents, property owners and city government
Ownership Liaison: Provide assistance to future ownership in understanding the desires of the surrounding community. Structure property and water ownership to minimize the potential the community may be forced into in adversarial relationship with operators or owners in the future
Community organizing: Work to organize and empower community members by gathering input for planning and property use, ensuring a "bottom-up" approach that reflects residents desires
